26.4.9.2 infinito con to come oggetto dopo la preposizione for

Abbiamo già visto molte possibilità per abbreviare una frase o per evitare la ripetizione di una subordinata. Un altra possibilità è quella di usare un infinito con to, aggiunto con la preposizione for.

Si utilizza questa costruzione soprattutto...

1) con aggettivi predicativi.
2) Dopo sostantivi e pronomi indeterminativi come anything, something etc. e con espressioni come here is, there are, this is etc.
3) Dopo verbi composti che si costruiscono con for.
4) Per sostituire una frase subordinata che esprime finalità.

It is not easy for anyone to find a good friend. (1)
My dog is not difficult for other dogs to get a long with. (1)
He didn't think there is anything for him to do. (2)
We were not sure whether there is something for us to eat in the fridge. (2)
She waited all evening for him to call. (3)
He could never ask for somebody to show the way.(3)
He bought a house for the children to play in. (4)
She reserved a room for him to stay overnight. (4)
