Dopo the first, the last, the next, the only si sostituisce molto spesso una frase relativa con una costruzione con infinito.

Una frase relativa viene anche sostituita da una costruzione con infinito, se il verbo della relativa chiede una preposizione, o la frase risulterebbe molto pesante.
